the north korean government is one of the most brutal governments on earth. the testimonies of such refugees and defectors have been available only since the mid-nineties, when more and more people, driven by extreme hunger, started to flee north korea.

famine stricken north korea hit hard by bad weather
the planting season in north korea suffered from extreme weather, limiting crop production in the famine-stricken country, the korean central news agency reported. the early planting season was marked by drought, while tidal waves and a cold spell damaged crops along the eastern coast and in the interior in june. the catholic relief group caritas reported that a lack of food has forced many north koreans to scrounge for anything to eat, including grass, tree bark and roots.

dead children are now being hidden for days before burial to prevent people from digging up the child and eating it!
it is also reported that if the governmet of north korea would reroute a mere 5% of their arms budget they would have enough money to feed all of the citizens.
